This is a local specialty in one of the Southern provinces in the Philippines.
My dad being from this region, I pretty much grew up with this dish.
It's steamed prawns (using sprite) then stir fried with some sugar and garlic. Alavar Sauce is then added afterwards.
To those unfamiliar with Alavar sauce, its a specialty sauce in the region of Zamboanga which the exact recipe is a secret. But it is somehow tastes like coconut milk, spices and some crab fat. Goes very well with shrimps, crabs and lobsters but most especially to a local version of a crayfish called CURACHA
