Foodtrip

I know its late and my DA has just been piling up virtual dust ever since the last update. Given I just came from a holiday, maybe a new journal and some new deviations are very much needed. 1st thing's first.

What has been goin on?

[The Usual]

Christmas and New Year was rather quiet for me this year. Working on the sad night shifts even on those holidays. Haven`t been shooting much since work always gets in the way. Haven`t cooked much either. My cousin and some relatives were here but didnt had enough time coz of work. sad sad sad... Primary reason is *drum rolls*

[The Sad]

WORK! Guh The people are ok i guess. I guess its just that I don`t love what I am currently doin as much as the other things I prefer doing. Im currently working as a Phone banker in one of the call centers nearby my place (5mins away). Its eating up a lot of creative juices I have for repeative spiels and lines. Hoping the Pay gets better within the next months.... (planning to stay til march atleast)

[The Random]

Things kinda picked up early on the year when the Midknighters get together for some food, drinks and randomness. ALASKAN NACHOS and GRINCH PASTA! Good times good times. Food, chatter, bashing orgen, and making Kitt wear a bonnet.

[The Rainy Holiday]

I just recently came back from an Epic Rainy Holiday in the Lion City of Singapore. This is actually my third time goin there and everytime is still a new adventure. This time i came with my family and be on tourist mode. So we did the usuals like the night safari, walking around orchard and Universal Studios. It was raining for the past few days so we werent as mobile as we can normally can be. Still never stopped us from chowing down and having foodtrips on the nearest hawker plazas. (stingray is still awesome). Day 1 was basically roaming around and getting our bearings right. We stayed at the RELC International Hotel (Regional Language Center). Though the rooms were very spacious, it did take quite a walk from the hotel to the nearest bus/train station. The rain wasnt helping with that. Walked around orchard and started looking for food. The night safari was so-so for me. Maybe coz we did it the 1st day and I was still suffering fatigue and lack of sleep issues from the trip.

During my 1st two trips, Universal studios wasn't there yet. I've seen HK Disney and Ocean park as well so there are points of comparison. So on Day2 of our trip, we went. Personally, there are still a few more rides Universal studios are yet to open and compared to its parent park in the US, still has a long way to go. But never the less IT WAS FUN. I really enjoyed the way the literally put twists and turns inside their rides.

Day3: I excused myself from my family to meet a few people and friends in Singapore. My family went to Sentosa (which I've already been to during my second trip) while I met up with Holydust to tag along with them for a shoot. I literally haven't shot in months so i'm really rusty. But it was all fun from there on. At the start It was more on observing how they do things and how it differs from how we do it back home. Holy Introduced me to the other members of the team. It was raining all through out so we were kinda limited by nature. but still it was fun. Others soon joined in as the day went by.

We then had dinner and drinks at Clark Quay. Nothing beats good ol hanging out after a days shoot. ( I owe you dinner holy!)

day4: Pretty much wraps up my trip. Few last minute shopping and foodtrips still. Rain is still on goin that day. Just went to bugis, china town and little india. Then checkout at the Hotel for our flight back.

Now currently rolling on my bed, being a lazy ass again. Work starts again later tonight but im not one bit excited about it. Planing for the next trip. Nudging kjaexHuzafan and kokimonster to go traveling. Team Happy Meal needs to shoot again. LOL I need to learn more dishes to cook. I tried observing food in hawkers to see if i can do sumthing similar.

I'm still on a job hunt. Trying to find something new to work on with and earn some much needed cash for the upcoming seasons. Hopefully some freelance jobs also comes in.

Also been considering to try Culinary arts... I think i need to save up before i do... damn expensive...

[DA renovations]-----------------------

I'm still not done with some revisions i wanna do. still doin my folio as i update it with new works, layouts and procrastination. Finding a good printer makes it harder coz they range in prices and dimension (meaning i need to adjust the layouts.. AGAIN) Hopefully i can print a copy or two by the end of the month

[Thoughts and other stuff]--------------

Simple things are the best. A lot of people may ignore this fact nor understand its significance but a random friend a few days back reminded me of this.

Been a bit down past few days. A combination of job hunting frustrations and other expectations. A particular thing that has been bothering me is the difference between First Choice and being the Last Resort. Though being last resort shows signs of being reliable it also has this 'taken for granted' feel to it. People get comfortable making you a last resort knowing you're always there. (random rambling)

I've been planning to do a few more food shoots. Sumthing simple and a good reason to get together and eat. Anyone want in? (Philippines only)

I will be renovating my DA. Hopefully new deviations and a folio.

Will be on a indefinite shooting hiatus for the time being. I'd accept certain projects on a case to case basis
